A HEART FOR THE PHILIPPINES
Support for children in the Philippines

We support children, girls and young women
Basic needs
We directly or indirectly promote food, health, and economic aid to the needy population of the Philippines, particularly children, young girls, young mothers (single mums), and parents.
Our projects
We support the implementation of educational and vocational training projects for children, young people, and parents, with the aim of developing initiatives that respect people and the natural environment.
A Heart for the Philippines
Our friendly volunteer

This means: autonomy, dignity, and solidarity.
Qualities we want to provide through our commitment to the most disadvantaged women in Philippine society. Due to poverty, many young women are forced to work without completing their education.
They cannot find good jobs without completing their education because they are left without guidance, support, and financial assistance.
Many young people and women in the poorest areas are therefore unable to live an independent and dignified life.

We work for the younger generations – especially young Filipino kids and women.
100% of donations benefit projects in poor regions and situations of need.
All members of our association work pro bono. Travel expenses are not covered by your donations. Our low administrative costs are covered entirely by membership fees.
Abandoned by their future husbands and fathers, many young mothers—single mums—migrate to foreign countries as housekeepers on very modest wages, leaving their children to be cared for by their grandparents.
Many girls and young women are forced to abandon their schooling and professional education to work for very modest wages that will never allow them a secure and peaceful future.
Exploitation and abuse are a bitter reality, worsened by the devastating hurricanes and earthquakes (Christine 2024, Hayan 2022, Odette 2021, and many others) and the COVID-19 pandemic.

We want to help give a young and ambitious generation, full of determination and talent, a perspective with
A HEART FOR THE PHILIPPINES.
We verify what happens to your donations:
In close collaboration with local schools, we support children and young women who lack financial support from their families.
A HEART FOR THE PHILIPPINES supports them by paying their school fees and, if necessary, also providing room and board.
We work closely with various local vocational training centers.
To increase the impact of our work, we network with organizations pursuing similar goals in both Switzerland and the Philippines.
Welcome

Empowering girls and young women
In the Philippines, over a third of the population is under the age of 14. Poverty, particularly in rural areas, is fueling a profound social crisis that affects the youngest children, forced to grow up without parents or to work in precarious conditions.
The main causes:
-
Parent emigration: Many adults are forced to leave the country to emigrate abroad, the only way to ensure the economic support of their families. Children are then entrusted to their grandparents.
-
Urban migration of minors: To survive, many children and young people move alone to large urban areas in search of a livelihood.
Where is child labor concentrated?
Child labor is a widespread phenomenon. Minors are mainly employed in sectors such as
-
Small local industries,
-
Construction sites,
-
Agriculture in rural areas,
-
Domestic work in other families,
-
Hotels and resorts
