WE NEED EDUCATION
Interview to Young Female Students:
1. What are your dreams or goals for the future? What kind of life do you see for yourself in 5 or 10 years?
2. How important do you think education is to help you have a good job and become financially independent?
3. Do you feel pressure from your family or community to get married or have children early? How does that make you feel?
4. What challenges do you face - or think you will face- in reaching your goals, especially about work and independence?
5. What keeps you motivated to stay in school, even when it’s hard or money is tight? Do you have someone who inspires you?
6. What does a life where you don’t depend on parents or a husband for money look like to you? How would it feel?
7. If you could send a message to other girls and young women like you, what would you say to help them believe in their future?

Our association enables Filipino children and young people without family and/or financial support to complete their school and professional training, which will help them secure their existence in the future, according to their talent, conditions and desires.
Welcome to
A heart for the Philippines
empowering girls and young women
A third of the population of the Philippines is under 14 years old. The great poverty especially in the rural regions of the Philippines means that more and more children and young people grow up with only one relative (grandmother), without a father and often without a mother. In fact, parents are forced to emigrate to ensure the livelihood of their families. In addition, many parents find themselves in the situation of having to send their children to the city to find work: they have to work in small industries, on construction sites, in agriculture, in families or in hotels.
Abandoned by their future husbands and fathers, many young mothers - single mums – emigrate abroad as all-round caregivers and housekeepers, in order to ensure a dignified existence for their children, leaving the children with their grandparents.
Exploitation, prostitution and child trafficking are the order of the day - a bitter reality that has worsened after the devastating hurricanes and earthquakes (Hayan 2013, Odette 2021, many others) and the COVID19 pandemic.

To alleviate this need and give a young and ambitious generation a perspective after school, we founded in 2025 A HEART FOR THE PHILIPPINES.

We work for the young generations -
100% of donations will benefit projects in poor regions and situations of need.
All members of our association work for free. Travel expenses or costs are not paid with donations. The low administrative costs are financed entirely by membership fees.
We control what happens to your donations:
-
In close cooperation with local children's homes and schools, we support those children and young people who do not have the financial support of their families.
-
A HEART FOR THE PHILIPPINES supports children and young people by paying school fees and, if necessary, also by providing or arranging accommodation.
-
We work closely with various local training centers.
-
To increase the impact of our work, we are networked with organizations pursuing similar goals both in Switzerland and the Philippines.

Strenght, Skill, Solidarity

Our lovely volunteer
A Heart for the Philippines

A HEART FOR THE PHILIPPINES - stands for strength, skill and solidarity.
Qualities that we want to provide with our commitment to the particularly neglected part of Philippine society.
Many young people cannot find a good job without completing an education because they find themselves without guidance, support and financial support.
Many young people and women in poor areas are unable to make the transition to working life without financial support and assistance, so that they can find work that allows them to live an independent and dignified life.
To ensure that we reach the rural population of the Visayas with our commitment to education, we work closely with local schools.

The association A HEART FOR THE PHILIPPINES has the following objectives:
Basic Needs
directly or indirectly promote food, health and economic aid for the needy population of the Philippines, especially children, young people, young mothers (single mums) and parents;
Educational Projects
support the implementation of educational and vocational training projects for children, young people and parents, to develop initiatives that respect people and the natural environment.
